
Dr. Cannon received specialty training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida where she actively treated children and adults with strabismus (eye turns), amblyopia (lazy eye which can lead to blindness), eye movement disorders, and the multi-handicapped.
In 2002, Dr. Cannon helped provide vision to the indigent population of Ometepeh, Nicaragua with the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). VOSH is an outreach organization which strives to supply eye care and eyeglasses to people in need around the world and ultimately eliminate avoidable blindness.
Prior to becoming an Optometrist, Dr. Cannon achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry at California State University in Fullerton, California in 1997. Upon graduation, she acquired a position as an analytical chemist, examining the Southern California air quality for the South Coast Air Quality District. She has also worked as a research associate at Baxter Hyland-Immuno Pharmaceuticals in California.
Dr. Cannon established Cannon Family Eyecare in 2005 in West Roxbury where she lives with her husband.
